My glass studio started as a hobby in my home. I was always interested in glass art and finally took time out of my schedule (part time job as a hairstylist, owner (with my husband) of a local small engine repair shop, and my kids) to take a fused glass class at my local art museum. I was hooked! I showed off some of my first creations and was asked if they were for sale. And that's how it all started!
Since then, I've had my glass art displayed at many arts & craft shows and local stores.
I create my art by hand cutting special fusing glass, layering and assembling it. It then fuses in a kiln at controlled high temperatures for about a day. Some pieces will often fire in a kiln twice. I not only love to create glass that is cool to look at, but is also functional in every day use. I love the flow of the bright colors and liquid - like gloss when a piece is finished. So smooth that you can't help but touch it. I get inspired by trendy home furnishing magazines, everyday life, and most of the time, from out of necessity.
